Heartbeat is a new music magazine. This stunning, singular publication celebrates the emotion of sound through genre-defying stories that span nature and art, venturing into the past and looking to the future to explore how what we listen to makes us feel. 

Stories explore mechanical birdsong, memories of boleros, hearing a tree fall in the forest, a personal history of hearing aids, learning to sing like a whale, imagining the sound of thought, the peculiar freedoms of wingdings tracks, conversations with record collectors in São Paulo, Brazil, hip-hop style, the sacred tones of an 185-year-old Japanese bell foundry, making instruments out of glass, pond music, singing gibbons, life-changing owl calls, and writing songs people learn by heart.
